Meditation functions to familiarise our mind with positive and peaceful mental states but to do this we need to improve our concentration. Learn practical techniques for overcoming external and internal obstacles to concentration from an experienced meditation teacher.

Meditation in Action
An essential part of any meditation practice is integrating any meditation experience we have gained into our daily life. If we can get this right we will be able to solve our problems and bring calm and peace to the times we are not meditating.
INSPIRING MEDITATIONS FOR HEALTHY MIND
(5 Mar - 3 Apr)
A Positive Vision
Learn how to view others in a positive way and overcome our feelings of separation. Once we view each and every living being as important we should naturally develop good intentions towards them and we will experience true peace and happiness.
The Prison of Selfishness
Selfishness is the cause of all our problems in this world. Disregarding the happiness of others and selfishly pursuing our own interests is at the very core of our negativity and suffering. Controlling our self-cherishing is therefore of great value and meaning.
The Compassionate Heart
Pure compassion is a mind that finds the suffering of others unbearable, but it does not make us depressed. In fact is can become a means for transforming suffering and adversity into a positive force for change and personal development.
Taking Away Suffering

Living Lightly

Meditation Class Description
What is a typical class like?
A typical class consists of a gentle relaxation meditation, teaching, discussion, and final meditation. The meditations are guided and are suitable for beginners as well as the experienced. Each class is self-contained so feel free to join at any time!
Why meditate?
The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful we shall be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we shall experience true happiness; but if our mind is not peaceful we shall find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions. If we train in meditation our mind will gradually become more and more peaceful, and we shall experience a purer and purer form of happiness. Eventually we shall be able to stay happy all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances.
“When the turbulence of distracting thoughts subsides and our mind becomes still a deep happiness and contentment naturally arises from within.”
- Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
