The Four Noble Truths
Weekend Course February 13 – 15 2009
- The Four Noble Truths
For most people the causes of suffering and the methods to prevent it permanently remain a complete mystery. Fortunately for the people of this world, out of his great
compassion, Buddha explained these clearly in his Sutra of the Four Noble Truths. This was Buddha’s very first teaching after attaining full enlightenment in India 2,500 years ago, and the lineage and blessings of these precious teachings are still alive today.
During this special weekend course Gen-la Khyenrab will give a practical and step-by-step explanation of the Four Noble Truths in accordance with Buddha’s intention.
Beyond Sorrow
Day Course Sunday 28 June 2009
The root cause of all suffering and problems is the mind that grasps at the true existence of a person or self – ‘the self we normally see or think about’, to use Venerable Geshe Kelsang’s modern description. The actual truth, which we will discover on this special one-day course, is that the self as it appears to us does not exist at all. However strongly we may feel that there is a real person ‘inside’ our body and mind, such a self cannot possibly exist. Intrigued? Find out the real truth as presented in Buddha’s wisdom teachings.
A Pure Life
- Empowerment of Vajrasattva, the Buddha of Purification, and Teachings on Purification
Friday 20 – Sunday 22 November 2009
Previously, through being under the influence of negative minds we committed countless unskilful actions. After these actions stopped they left within our mind potentialities for us to experience pain and suffering – results that are similar to the causes we created. These negative actions and their potentialities are the main source of all our suffering. During this weekend Gen-la Khyenrab will grant the special Blessing Empowerment of Vajrasattva and give teachings on the purification practice of the meditation and recitation of Vajrasattva, which will enable us to cleanse our mind completely of all negativities and thus prevent our future suffering.
