The Café is a peaceful oasis where you can relax and unwind in comfortable surroundings in the heart of Ulverston, just south of the Lake District. We serve delicious food made from top quality ingredients which are organic and fairtrade wherever possible. Above the Café is the Meditation Centre where we hold regular lunchtime and evening meditation classes.
Exemplifying the Buddhist faith through public service is central to the ethos of Kadampa Buddhism, and it is this philosophy that underlies the World Peace Café.
Inspired by the vision of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, the café exists to promote peace throughout the world. All profits are used for building Kadampa Temples dedicated to world peace for the benefit of this and future generations.
