Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre
As the Spiritual home of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Manjushri KMC is the Mother Centre of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU).
Venerable Geshe-la founded NKT-IKBU in 1991 to provide a vehicle for promoting Kadampa Buddhism throughout the world.
According to its constitution, NKT-IKBU is "an international association of study and meditation centers that follow the pure tradition of Mahayana Buddhism derived from the Buddhist meditators and scholars Atisha and Je Tsongkhapa and introduced into the West by the Buddhist Teacher Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso."
The NKT-IKBU is an international non-profit organization registered in England as a charitable company, is an entirely independent Buddhist tradition with no political affiliations.
The Central Office of NKT-IKBU is based at Manjushri KMC, as are many of the key NKT activities.
