Welcome to Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre! We are Europe's largest working Buddhist community. Come and experience a life of love, wisdom and compassion in a beautiful, pure place set amidst the splendour of the English Lake District.
We are open all year round: tour the beautiful Temple and historic house; walk through the gorgeous gardens and woodland to the beach; enjoy the Café or join us for lunch; stay for a few days' relaxing break; join in with meditation classes, courses and retreats; meet Buddhist monks, nuns and lay practitioners from around the world; attend our International Festivals; work with us on a volunteer visit or move in, study and work with the community full-time.
Manjushri KMC is the Mother Centre of Kadampa Buddhism worldwide and the spiritual home of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, our founder. It is a thriving spiritual community dedicated to world peace. There is something here for everyone!
